Safety & Efficiency for Truck Transportation

The impact of a truck drivers driving style can impact fuel economy by as much as 30%.  Our system reports provide real time reporting on a trucks fuel consumption, but most importantly it shows how an individual is driving a truck in terms of the time in engines “sweet spot”, in over rev and excessive idle times.  Our customers use this information from their trucks to coach their drivers to drive more fuel efficiently, which we expect will bring them fuel savings of between 7 – 12%.  This not only saves fuel costs but also reduces carbon emissions too.


As well as efficiency reporting, Fleetseek provides key fleet safety statistics including speeding, brake utilisation, harsh braking, acceleration, cornering, and TEBS activations (trailer electronic braking systems). This will help identify the dangerous drivers within the fleet to train them and minimise the likelihood of future incidents.




FleetSeek’s flagship product, the fleet Safety Reporting suite delivers detailed safety reports that provide a deep in sight into exactly how safely vehicles are being driven and clearly highlights areas of driving style where improvements can be made.


How it Works

Our safety solution sends crtical data collected about the vehicle, plant, or driver behaviour analysis. This data can be sent via SMS, or email, or viewed on the online platfrom or by mobile. 


What its Used For:


Establishing KPI’s: The fleet Safety Reporting suite allows fleet managers to establish key performance indicators

based on driver behaviour analysis, and plant or vehicle data. The KPI’s can be used to help achieve a variety of corporate objectives such as reducing fleet operating costs, maximizing yields, incentivising good driving behaviour, or penalising bad driver behaviour.


Health & Safety Compliance: The Safety Reporting suite is often used by fleet managers as a risk assessment

tool which helps them to identify and document potential hazards—a legal requirement of UK H&S regulations.


H&S regulations also stipulate that companies should have adequate systems and processes for managing their H&S systems and the FleetSeek Driver Safety Reporting suite is used by fleet managers in partial fulfillment of that.




Fleetseeks’s Driver Efficiency Monitoring suite gives fleet managers an insight into how drivers and vehicles are performing in terms of efficiency, as well as reduce fuel consumption. Distance travelled, time in engine sweet spot, time in over rev, top gear time, cruise control usage, idle time and fuel economy are all recorded.


How it Works

FleetSeek's system continually monitors all the parameters of the vehicle that the driver has the greatest influence over.


The data is then collected and analysed using Fleetseek’s unique methodology for calculating efficiency. Drivers and vehicles  are then accurately ranked on a level playing field taking into account all parameters that can affect a vehicle’s efficiency (such as load weight, fuel consumption, type of tyres, terrain, road conditions etc.)


What it is Used For

This option allows a fleet manager to see at a glance how each of his drivers and vehicles are performing in terms of efficiency and how drivers rank against one another (i.e. individual efficiency vs group efficiency). It’s unique in that it doesn’t use Fuel usage as a measure of performance (which is widely used by fleet managers). Instead, it calculates all the factors that the driver has direct control over for example gears, accelerator, cruise control usage and general driving style. It also factors in other fuel influencing variables such as payloads, terrain etc. The result is a system that creates a level playing field for all drivers. Reports are available in a simple, easy to read graphical format showing driver’s current efficiency scores, historical scores & various other rankings and historical averages.

Many other reports are available including live engine ODO readings, fuel & CO2 reports as well as all the reports that are available with the Vehicle tracking solution.


FleetSeek driver and vehicle efficiency reporting suite enables fleet managers to:

FleetSeek’s Emissions Monitoring suite allows organisations to accurately monitor their fleet’s carbon footprint.


How it Works

FleetSeek’s system is connected to the vehicle’s data bus so all fuel consumed is accurately measured. The system automatically calculates a fleet's carbon footprint on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.


A variety of reports can be generated based on CO2 emissions by vehicle, by journey, by period of time, or even by depot, region, by job/contract or per customer.


What it is Used For

The system is typically used by organisations wishing to demonstrate corporate and social responsibility by establishing a CO2 emissions reduction programme.




Most modern vehicles are equipped with Electronic Stability Programs (ESP’s) and in the case of trailers, Rollover Prevention Systems (ROPS). The ESP/ROPS is designed to intervene with the drivers own actions such as in the case of going too quickly around corners, or on poor road  conditions (such as ice). When most ESP interventions occur, they tend to be very subtle and the driver is not aware of how much work the ESP/ROPS is doing.


How it Works

FleetSeek’s ESP and ROPS Monitoring systems pick up live data from the vehicle’s ESP/ROPS system and displays the severity of each ESP/ROPS intervention on an LED display mounted on the dashboard. The LED’s are traffic light color coded (green for a minor intervention, amber for a medium intervention and red for a major intervention). The LED’s can also be accompanied by audio alerts to the driver as well.

FleetSeek's system notes every intervention made and a summary of the number of interventions, their severity, and their frequency of occurrence are recorded for later analysis.




Similar to an aircraft’s black box, FleetSeek’s Event Data Recorder captures all data from the vehicle and stores two minutes of ‘footage’ one minute prior to an event and one minute after.

In the event of an incident, or a near incident, data can be used to help determine the cause.


Recorded data is automatically transmitted to the server in any incident, but data can also be transmitted manually at the press of a button (this is useful in situations where the driver feels he has a need to record evidence of his actions such as taking evasive action to avert an accident).

Speed, RPM, engine load, ABS, seatbelts worn, brakes, clutch, accelerator, gears and cruise control.


Typical Usage

The EDR has proved to be extremely useful for high risk/high incident vehicles especially those that have a high risk of incidents such as threats or abuse from others (e.g. clamp & towaway vehicles, council vehicles etc). It is also an extremely useful for vehicles that operate in dangerous or high risk areas or situations (e.g. road maintenance vehicles, emergency services vehicles, utility vehicles, breakdown recovery vehicles etc.



This report gives you an overall comparison of Fuel economy and C02 between fleets and individual trucks. The report also shows the total fuel use and percentage of time each truck has over revved and idled.



FleetSeek offers a wide range of security, lone worker, and man down systems. These include fixed, in cab systems or portable systems. Upon activation, alerts can be sent in a variety of ways to designated response centres.



This Report is great for Driver trainers; it gives detailed progress of a drivers performance over a 5 week period with data on both efficiency and safety supported in graph form for easy analysis.

GEOFENCING (Site Reporting)

A geofence marks and names a piece of land allowing you to report who, what, when & how long a vehicle entered a particular area with their vehicle.  Our geofencing functionality also allows reports to be created on entries within a geofence prior to that particular fence being created.


Geofence Notifications

  • Allows users to set geofence alerts for triggers such as vehicles spending to long in or enter/leaving selected geofences
  • Notification can be via phone, SMS and/or vehicle highlight on the track screen with additional pop up window notifications



Our easy to use Driver ID devise will give you live and historical information on who is driving the vehicle at any given time.

Each driver will have an ID tag which they then swipe when starting the vehicle, if they fail to do so a buzzer will sound once they start driving to remind them. 

You can also run reports showing the drivers hours over any given time.



These reports are easy to use and will give you information on total Km’s travelled on any vehicle or over a set time. You are able to view the entire fleet at once or you can select individual units and report over any duration.



Passenger Comfort Levels are based on measurements taken from the accelerometer; which is a built in component on the FleetSeek box.


How it works

The 3-way accelerometer measures forward acceleration, deceleration and lateral acceleration (i.e. how fast the vehicle is going around corners) in G forces.


The report will be in both text based and map quick view to show you the date, time and place the event occurred

Vehicles fitted with a FleetSeek GPS Navigation unit can receive directions and messages instantly from the FleetSeek website. When directions are sent the device it navigates the vehicle to the specified location once accepted.

Drivers of vehicles can reply “accept” or decline” jobs as well as reply by personalised messages.

Proof of delivery of sent messages, as well as confirmation they have been read or deleted is shown on FleetSeek to ensure accountability.

The Navigation units can be used by drivers as a normal GPS and Hands free also.
